Sar·dine | särˈdēn |
Noun - a young pulchard or other young or small herring-like fish
Verb - pack closely together: we sardined our dismantled bikes into the boat
A youth group classic is a good ole' game of "Sardines". What exactly is "Sardines" you may ask? Well, it's similar to a massive game of hide-and-seek, except in reverse! One person hides, and everyone else searches for the hidden person. Whenever someone finds the hidden person, they quietly join them in their hiding spot. Soon, the hidden group starts to look like a bunch of sardines! This game is done in the dark and, since we have the whole church to ourselves, there are countless places somone can be hidden. You'd be surprised at some of the places we've found people hiding...
Oh, and did we mention that there will be food, too?
All that searching can make one hungry, so to fill hyour bellies after a hard night of sardin-ing, we are having an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Bar! We're loading up the toppings and firing up the grill, so bring your appetite because we're making enough pancakes to feed an army! We also will be hosting a Pancake Eating Competition which is open to everyone and anyone that thinks they can eat pancakes fast. Winner takes home the prize!
